Volunteers needed for newly-formed Qualifications Review Working Group
February 17, 2025Volunteers are being recruited to help review two Swim England Qualifications to ensure they are up to date and aligned with the latest industry needs.
The SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming and SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers will be assessed by a newly-formed Qualifications Review Working Group.
Individuals with more than five years of experience in a related technical swimming role within the aquatics industry can now apply to join the group, which has been created as part of a commitment to ensure qualifications remain fit for purpose and market relevant.
Successful applications will be currently active in the industry and will have taught swimming to diverse community groups.
They will also possess comprehensive knowledge of the latest industry guidance and developments in swimming, including Swim England’s Learn to Swim Programme, Adult Swimming Programme, DfE PE national curriculum framework, Swim England’s Wavepower, and Safe Supervision guidance.

Selected members will agree on the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for the qualifications under review.
Participation will involve virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams and occasional face-to-face meetings at SportPark in Loughborough, with travel expenses reimbursed.
The time commitment includes initial face-to-face meetings in Loughborough, with approximately six virtual meetings (each lasting 2-3 hours) across the review period, plus additional time spent for document review and feedback.
