The SEQ Level 2 in Teaching Early Years Swimming for Swim Teachers is the specialist training programme for qualified swimming teachers seeking to extend their expertise to teach babies, toddlers, and pre-school children. This industry-recognised qualification equips you with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to deliver safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate early years swimming lessons that support children’s aquatic development from their earliest experiences in the water.

Entry Requirements

To enrol on this qualification, learners must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age on the first day of the course.
  • Hold a recognised Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.

Assessment

Assessment consists of:

  • 30-question multiple-choice assessment covering the knowledge units.
  • Three lesson plans (one each for babies, toddlers, and pre-school children).
  • Observation of three practical teaching sessions in a real-world environment.
  • Self-evaluation.
  • Personal Action Plan.

This qualification is graded Pass/Fail.
